BSNL expansion plans had delayed, Minister
New Delhi, Nov 29 (UNI) Quoting the CAG report, Minister of State for Communications Shakeel Ahmad today informed the Rajya Sabha that there were delays at every stage of finalisation of the tender for procurement of GSM mobile equipment and this has contributed to loss of subscribers to the state-owned company's network.
In a written reply, the Minister said the procurement process of GSM equipment has since been concluded with the acceptance of Advance Purchase Order (APO) by the L- bidder and the capacities are expected to be progressively available from last quarter of this financial year.
The procurement delays has hit the expansion of GSM mobile services and Trunk Automatic Exchange (TAX).
