Rearing
and
breeding
of
Angora
rabbits
is
proving
to
be
a
lucrative
prospect
for
Indian
villagers
in
northern
Uttarakhand.
Declining population of sheep in the region forced the villagers to turn to Angora rabbit breeding, when the state Rural Development Ministry launched the Angora Wool Scheme in Uttarakhand in March 2002 in collaboration with the federal government. HIFEED Agro Services is the nodal organisation of the Government of Uttarakhand.
