Special Security Group of CISF constituted to protect VIPs
New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) A separate unit, called Special Security Group, has been constituted in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for protection of VIPs, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.
Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal said in a written reply that as per the report received from CISF, a total of 998 security personnel out of the sanctioned strength of 1200 for this unit have been trained in VIP security duties so far.
There are 23 women personnel in this unit, he said.
These security personnel would be deployed for providing security to central protectees as per requirements.
