Kathakali fest in UAE from tomorrow

Dubai, Nov 28 (UNI) Indian art lovers are all set to express their love for the classical Kathakali dance by organising a four-day Kathakali festival in the UAE from tomorrow.

Utsavam 2007 is being organised by a Dubai-based cultural organisation of Indian expatriates in association with the Indian Consulate General in Dubai to celebrate the 60th anniversary of India's Independence.

Besides Kathakali, other traditional Kerala art forms like Thayambaka, Keli, Melappadam, Cholliyattam and Mohiniyattam will also be performed, the Gulf Today reported.

The set of performing artists include Kalamandalam Gopi, Sadanam Krishnan Kutty, Narippatta Narayanan Namboodiri, Kalanilayam Gopalakrishnan and Kalanilayam Vinod among others.
