Govt's own documents prove Ramsethu man-made : BJP

New Delhi, Nov 27: Taking exception to the statements by some DMK ministers regarding breach of Ramsethu, the BJP today said the government's own documents showed that the bridge across Dhanushkoti to Sri Lanka was man-made, built 1.15 lakh years ago. BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said the Government which had filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court questioning the existence of Lord Rama, describing him as a mythological figure was yet to submit an alternative affidavit after it evoked large scale protests.

The DMK ministers were proclaiming that they would breach the bridge which did not have just religious but historical importance as well. The bridge should not be destroyed but the route of Sethu Samudram Project should be altered which intends to establish a sea-link between the east and the western coast without taking a circuitous route.

The Rameshwaram Ramsethu Raksha Manch would be organising a protest rally in Delhi on December 30 and the BJP would extend all support to this event, he said.
