Chinese experts to visit Tripura

Agartala, Nov 28: A three-member expert team of Bamboo Engineering Research Centre(BERC) of the Nanjing Forest University in China will visit Tripura in the second week of December.

Forest minister Jitendra Choudhury here today said the BERC team, including Dr Jhang Kuai Senge, Dr Ming Jie Gouyang and Jiang Seng Swi, was expected to arrive on December 9 from Singapore, to explore bamboo-based business in the state.

''In fact, we have sought their support for bamboo technology and its market expansion abroad,'' Mr Choudhury said and added that experts would meet the officials and visit the bamboo growing areas in the state.

Later, BERC would conduct training on bamboo technology and marketing of bamboo based products outside of the country.
