Lucknow, Nov 27 (UNI) A hotcase tiffin box, reportedly left by two motorcycle-borne youth outside a convent school here this morning created panic in the Mahanagar area.

A boy informed the Mahanagar police that two youth had placed a purple and white hotcase outside the Carmel Convent school. Soon police swung into action and cordoned off the area.

The bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) opened the box and found it to contain dal, roti and green chilly.

''Someone might have dropped the tiffin on road and the youth must have kept it near the school out of courtesy...after the Friday blasts, we are taking no chances,'' said a police officer who supervised the BDDS operation.

Due to office hour rush, the entire road was blocked and police was deployed in the area to prevent people from reaching near the suspected tiffin box. Shops in the Mahanagar area also kept their shutters down due to tense situation.

However, police made it clear anything could be said over the issue only after the arrival of the bomb disposal squad.

Friday's serial bomb blasts in three cities of the state had left 13 people dead and 70 wounded.
