Shimla DM bans processions on sealed and restricted roads

Shimla, Nov 27 (UNI) Shimla District Magistrate Tarun Kapoor today issued directions prohibiting holding of public meetings, taking out processions, demonstrations, shouting slogans and rallies on the restricted and sealed portions and roads of the town.

The orders would come into force with immediate effect and would remain in force up till January 19, next year, he said in a release here.

Mr Kapoor said the order has been issued to avoid any disturbance to public since a few organizations propose to hold their rallies in these areas.

The restriction would be implemented on The Mall Road from Chotta Shimla up to Kennedy House and the Ridge, 150 meters on the approach from Rendezvous resturant to Revoli Cinema, Scandal Point to Kali Bari Temple, Chotta Shimla Chowk to Raj Bhawan to Oak Over and the road leading from AG office to cart road.
