SCBA to hold day-long dharna tomorrow protesting UP blasts

New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) The Supreme Court Bar Association(SCBA) will hold a day-long dharna tomorrow, in protest against the serial bomb blasts in Uttar Pradesh District courts.

The decision was taken today at an emergency meeting presided over by SCBA president P H Parekh.

The serial blasts which took place at Faizabad, Varanasi and Lucknow District Courts on November 23 claimed lives of 13 people including five lawyers.

SCBA has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in court premises and expressed sympathy with the bereaved families.

Lawyers in the Supreme Court were seen wearing white badges to express solidarity with their lawyer brothers in UP.

SCBA, however, made it clear that the working of the Supreme Court will not be affected tomorrow and lawyers will be free to attend their cases, listed for hearing.

Delhi lawyers including the High Court and District Court lawyers are on strike today in support of the UP lawyers.
