Moscow, Nov 27 (UNI) Russia seeks new contracts to continue nuclear construction work in India, said First Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov.

''We expect contracts to build nuclear facilities at Koodankulam as well as new ones," RIA Novosti news agency quoted Ivanov as saying, yesterday.

During his visit to Moscow earlier this month, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said the accord for four more nuclear reactors was in the pipeline.

''The inter-governmental agreement for the construction of four more reactors is work in progress,'' he said.

An Memorandum of Intent on the project was signed during President Vladimir Putin's visit to India in January.

Russia is building the Koodankulam nuclear plant in Tamil Nadu since 2002, and has already delivered two nuclear reactors to the facility.

Atomstroyexport, Russia's nuclear power equipment and service export monopoly, is building the Koodankulam plant in line with an initial 1988 agreement between India and the Soviet Union.
