Rupee opens low at 39.90 against Dollar

Mumbai, Nov 27: Spot Rupee today opened high at 39.90 per US Dollar, rising from the previous finish of 39.80 on fresh Dollar demand from foreign banks.

Later, the currency fluctuated between 39.57 to 39.83 in intra-day trade.

Rupee moved up as the Dollar dropped to a record low against the Euro and to a two-and-a-half year trough against the Yen, though gains were likely to be limited by RBI intervention, dealers said.

Trading is expected to be relatively light and erratic with holidays in Japan and the United States giving investors little in the way of fresh leads, dealers added.
