No-confidence motion after Chouhan's resignation: MP Cong

Bhopal, Nov 27 (UNI) Amid demand for Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's resignation over dumpers' purchase case, the main opposition party Congress today said no confidence motion would be brought against the ruling BJP Government only after Mr Chouhan's resignation.

Leader of Opposition in State Assembly Jamuna Devi and senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh told reporters here that an FIR had been lodged against Mr Chouhan.

''Under such circumstances, how would subordinate police officials conduct inquiry against him. Mr Chouhan should resign from his post,'' Ms Devi said, adding that a noconfidence motion would be brought out only after his resignation.

On earlier announcement by the party to bring noconfidence motion, he said the noconfidence motion would have no meaning until Mr Chouhan resigned.

Replying to a question, Mr Singh said the noconfidence motion was ready but party legislators would decide when to present it before the House.

On criticism of Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani for not allowing adjournment motion over dumpers' purchase issue, he said Mr Rohani should have taken the concerned of the opposition members in confidence in this matter.
