Moon Das refuses to meet media

Mumbai, Nov 27 (UNI) Model and aspiring actress Maushmi alias Moon Das, whose mother and uncle were allegedly killed by her former boyfriend Avinash Patnaik last Thursday, today refused to meet the media at her residence or any other place.

After killing Moon's mother Kanan and uncle, Avinash later allegedly committed suicide.

Moon has not met anyone and has become somewhat of a recluse, her brother Ajit Das said.

Moon was an upcoming model and was looking for a break in the film industry. Since Mr Patnaik was very possessive about her, she had broken off with him, said friends close to her.

The police are investigating the various angles of the case but are still clueless about the reasons behind the murder and the suicide.

Meanwhile, addressing a news conference in Orissa regarding his son's death and the case, Avinash's father, Bhupen Patnaik, alleged that his son was murdered as there was a bullet wound on his left temple.

Mr Patnaik also alleged that Moon had taken a lot of money from his son and has used him to her advantage.

Moon's brother Ajit told journalists on phone that Moon was very upset about the whole episode and had not stopped crying. He blamed the media to some extent for making her life hell and disturbing her at a time when she had lost her mother and uncle to a possessive lover.

The police are investigating every aspect of the case and are looking at all the possibilities to the case, said senior police official.

The police are also investigating the whereabouts of the weapon and how Avinash procured it before he killed Moon's mother and uncle.
