Memoranda to Governor demanding proper security for tribals

Ranchi, Nov 27 (UNI) Protesting the Assam violence in which tribals were assaulted, three delegations today handed over a memoranda to the Principal Secretary to Governor Syed Sibtey Razi.

The scheduled tribe wing of the BJP, led by state president Lakshan Tudu, submitted a memorandaum stating the tribals residing in Assam should be accorded their Constitutional rights.

The memoranda were submitted to Principal Secretary Amit Khare in the absence of the Governor.

Jharkhand Student's Union Party delegation, led by Bimal Kachap, demanded adequate security for the tribals after the incident.

Another delegation, led by Chamra Linda and Karma Oraon, demanded the government to ensure that similar incidents were not repeated.

Mr Khare told them that Mr Razi had already apprised President Pratibha Patil of the people's sentiment after the Assam violence.
