Phagwara, Nov 27 (UNI) Police today booked a villager on the charges of repeatedly raping his minor foster daughter in village Sahni in Kapurthala district.

The police registered the case under section 376/506/34 IPC against Karam Chand and his accomplice Dinesh, a migrant labourer, for raping Karam Chand's foster daughter who had been adopted by him after death of her first foster parents.

Phagwara DSP H S Khakh told mediapersons here today that an issueless couple, Sagli Ram and his wife Parkasho, had adopted an infant baby from an orphanage but when both died, the six-year-old girl was given by village elders to another issueless couple Karam Chand and his wife Neelam.

However, the girl's ordeal began when she was about 10-year-old as her second foster father Karam Chand started raping her under the threat of killing her.

The situation took an uglier turn when Karam Chand forced the girl to have sexual relations with Dinesh as well. When the victim told the truth to her foster second mother Neelam, she expressed her helplessness and even asked her to silently concede to Karam Chand's demands.

DSP Khakh said that the medical examination of the girl had confirmed repeated rape and police had booked both Karam Chand and his accompliance Dinesh. Raids were being conducted to nab the rapists who were still at large, he added.

Meanwhile, DSP Khakh said that the victim minor girl has now been handed to Fakir Chand, younger brother of her first foster father, Sagli Ram, who lives in Ajaram village.
