Intense cold, fog grips Jammu
Jammu, Nov 27 (UNI) Severe cold gripped the entire region as it turned foggy forcing vehicles to ply on the roads with the headlights on.
The 'city of temples' was covered in a thick blanket of fog, which also forced the cancellation of all flights from Jammu towards their destinations, airport sources told UNI.
The evening temperature plunged to the season's low in the city with severe cold wave sweeping the entire region. Maximum temperature was recorded at 24.9 degree while the minimum was 10.3 degree last night, the Met official said.
According to reports, upper reaches of Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri and Udhmapur were witnessing bitter cold conditions.
Workers and vendors on the roadside were braving the chill with bonfires. According to health officials, with dry cold conditions prevailing the number of patients reporting cough and other bronchial problems has increased.
