Congress(S), BSP merge in Kerala

Kozhikode, Nov 27 (UNI) The Congress (S), a break away faction of Congress and Kerala Cherukida Vyapari Vyavasayi Samyukta Sangham (KCVVSS) today merged with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) headed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati at a function here.

Addressing the gathering, BSP national general secretary Suresh Mane said the party would emerge as a major political force in south India.

He said Ms Mayawati would address a public meeting organised by the Party at Thiruvananthapuram on December 31.

Congress (S) President Paithal Padannakkandi also addressed the meeting. KCVVSS leaders and their followers were among those present.

A breakaway faction of Janata Dal (Secular) led by former Kerala Minister A Neelalohitadasan Nadar and many of his followers had joined the party recently.
