Centre to open Architecture schools in MP, AP
New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Schools of planning and Architecture (SPAs) will be set up by the Centre at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh during the eleventh plan period, the Lok Sabha was told today.
In reply to written questions, Minister of State for Human Resources Development D Purandeswari said both the state governments had since identified 100 acres of land each for the project.
She said the Planning Commission had already given "in-principle" approval for the new schools.
Ms Purandeswari said though the Tamil Nadu government had requested for opening two such schools, at Chennai and Coimbatore, there was no proposal at present to open more such schools during the eleventh plan period.
