Suspected LTTE activist detained at Chennai airport
Chennai, Nov 26 (UNI) A passenger, suspected to have links with LTTE, was detained at Anna international airport here today.
Airport sources said the passenger, Murali, (19), holding a Malaysian passport, arrived at the airport late last night from Malaysia in a Malaysian Airlines flight to board a connection Lufthansa flight to London at 0145 hrs.
At the immigration counter, when he presented his passport and other documents, the authorities grew suspicious and picked him up for questioning.
On interrogation, it was revealed that his actual name was Siva Mohan and he belonged to Jaffna in Sri Lanka.
It was found that the Malaysian passport, he possessed, was fake.
Further interrogation revealed that he was proceeding to London to attend a meeting of the LTTE.
Meanwhile, the Q-Branch police which took custody of the passenger had decided to deport him back to Malaysia, the sources added.
