VCs, Scholars meet at Anna University tomorrow

Chennai, Nov 25 (UNI) Over 200 Vice-Chancellors (VCs) of various Universities from India and 40 educationists from abroad will assemble at Anna University for an annual three-day event here tomorrow.

The event is being organised by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

An official release said apart from VCs from Indian varsities, experts from France, Netherlands and Bhutan were also expected to participate in the event, to be inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy.

On the second day, an International forum on Higher Education would be held and a national seminar on Knowledge Commission Report would be inaugurated by Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, the concluding day.

Former President of India A P J Abdul Kalam is also expected to take part.

Union Minister for Human Resources D Purandeswari would be the chief guest at the valedictory function.

The entire event was being hosted by Anna University for the first time in Tamil Nadu.
