Speaker urges media to work with more responsibility

Kochi, Nov 25 (UNI) Kerala Assembly Speaker K Radhakrishnan today urged the media to work with more responsibility and uplift the values of society.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the 'learn newsroom', a continuing journalism education programme organised by the Ernakulam Press Club here, Mr Radhakrishnan said "The Fourth Estate", with its writings, should change the society in a positive way".

"There was lack of social responsibility in all fields, including media and society should discuss what was good and bad in this fiercely competitive world".

He said the media had a great responsibility to assess the functioning of the Legislature, Executive and Judiciary.

As part of programme, the Club will organise seminars, exhibitions and camps for journalists, Mr Radhakrishnan added.
