PM returns after Commonwealth meet
New Delhi, Nov 25 (UNI) Prime Minster Manmohan Singh arrived here today from Uganda where he attended the summit of Commonwealth countries.
During his three-day stay in Uganda, Dr Singh also held bilateral meetings with leaders of various countries, including British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and several other leaders of the African countries.
The meet was important for India as its nominee and career diplomat Kamlesh Sharma was chosen as the Commonwealth Secretary General.
The biennial summit of the Commonwealth Heads of Government was inaugurated by British Queen Elizabeth II on November 23.
