One dead, one injured in partial building collapse

Rajkot, Gujarat, Nov 25 (UNI) One person was killed and another was injured when a 60-year-old two-storeyed building's balcony collapsed at Prahalad Plot area here last evening.

A labourer, who was passing by the building, was killed on the spot as the building's balcony collapsed on him, sources said.

Another person escaped with minor injuries. The deceased has been identified as Mulji Natvarbhai Vora (55).

According to fire brigade sources, the building's first floor had five shops which were closed at the time of the incident. The fire brigade staff struggled for five hours with JCB machines to demolish the precarious portions of the building.
