Maoists threaten revolt with new strategy
Kathmandu,
Nov
25:
Maoist
Chairman
Prachanda
has
threatened
to
launch
a
revolt
if
the
government
fails
to
address
Maoist
demands.
Speaking in Chitwan yesterday, he said,''No one can stop the revolt. The revolution will wipe out persons who dare to prevent it. We will get our party's demands for a republic and a proportional electoral system fulfilled at any cost.
''We don't want more bloodshed for forging a new Nepal. But, if it becomes necessary, our People's Liberation Army(PLA) fighters are ready to battle for 10, 20, 30 or 40 years more. No one's power can prevent that revolt,'' Kantipuronline quoted him as saying.
Urging Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala to take the matter seriously, the Maoist leader said,''He should not speak the language of King Gyanendra; he should immediately address Maoist demands.'' He also stated that conspiracies had been hatched to weaken the Maoists from the very moment they entered the (interim) Parliament.
''Several
forces
have
plotted
to
wipe
out
the
Maoists
from
the
whole
Tarai
region.''
