Benazir files nomination from Karachi

Karachi, Nov 25: Former Pakistani Prime Minister and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairperson, Benazir Bhutto on Sunday filed nomination papers for the forthcoming general elections in the country from the central Karachi seat, which is reserved for woman candidates.

She will also be filing her nomination papers from her hometown Larkana, which is very close to Karachi on Monday.

Earlier in the day, she reached the Regional Election Commission Office in the city where hundreds of her party workers were present.

Her supporters chanted pro-party slogans and hailed her as the next Prime Minister.

The elections for the provincial and the federal assemblies are scheduled for January 8.
