Bangarappa invites 'disgruntled' JD(S) MLAs to SP

Bangalore, Nov 25 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) Karnataka President S Bangarappa today invited JD(S) rebel leader M P Prakash and other 'disgruntled' legislators to join his party.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said the SP would invite all those politicians, who believe in the party's ideology.

''In the backdrop of JD(S) loosing its sheen, following recent political developments, it is time for those unhappy legislators and Mr Prakash to join my party,'' he said.

''Due to void in top Congress leadership in the state and 20 months misrule of the JD(S)-BJP combine, both the BJP and Congress had eroded their bases in Karnataka,'' the Former Karnataka Chief Minister claimed.

Though the SP was yet to make its mark in the state, the present political atmosphere would work in favour of the party, he said.

Mr Bangarappa, a sitting Lok Sabha member, said he would contest in the coming Assembly elections in the state.
