Army jawan killed, 2 others wounded in fire from Pak side

Jammu, Nov 25 (UNI) An army jawan was killed and two others wounded in a firing from Pakistan side near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here today.

An unidentified jawan of the Kumaon regiment, posted at the forward Langoor post near the LOC in the district, was killed in the fire from Pakistani side early this morning while two others were wounded in the incident, the sources told UNI.

When contacted, Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Col S D Goswami confirmed the death of the jawan ''due to hostile fire in the Poonch sector.'' The names of the deceased and wounded soldiers were not yet declared by the Army.
