Three people killed, more than 200 injured in bridge collapse
Dhaka, Nov 24 (UNI) At least three people were killed and more than 200 cyclone victims were injured when a bridge collapsed at Kalapara in Bangladesh's southern coastal district of Patuakhali battered by November 15 cyclone 'Sidr'.
Police confirmed one death but local people said three had drowned in the bridge collapse in the river Doon this afternoon.
Local people said the brittle bridge broke in the middle when around 3000 cyclone battered people thronged the bridge and scrambled for food.
Scan Cement, a private company, was distributing relief among the victims.
The cyclone 'Sidr' killed more than 3100 people, of them more than 400 died in Patuakhali district.
