Eight people killed, dozens missing in a fire in Dhaka

Dhaka, Nov 24 (UNI) At least eight people were killed and dozens missing after a fire devastated a big slum in the capital tonight, police said.

Fire fighters recovered eight charred bodies, four of them of children.

Reasons of the fire could not be ascertained.

Local people who also joined the rescue works feared many people might have been trapped inside the slum. There were more than 2,500 thatched houses in the slum.
