Rupee opens at 39.51/52 against USD
Mumbai,
Nov
23:
Rupee
opened
at
39.51/52
per
dollar,
rising
from
the
previous
finish
of
39.53/54,
its
lowest
close
since
October,
24.
It
had
hit
39.16
earlier
this
month,
its
highest
in
nearly
a
decade.
Rupee moved up as the dollar dropped to a record low against the Euro and to a two-and-half year trough against the yen, though gains were likely to be limited by RBI intervention.
Trading is expected to be relatively light and erratic with holidays in Japan and the United States giving investors little in the way of fresh leads, dealers said.
