Austrian composer presents opera in India

Kannur, Nov 23: Austrian Music Composer Gunter F Gossler has said his next opera, ''God of the World'', will be presented soon in India.

Speaking at a felicitation function at the 'Press Club' here on Thursday, Gossler said he had already finished the script for the opera.

Performed jointly by India and Austria, the opera would be held at Mumbai with dancers from Kerala and 'theyyam' artistes from this district. ''Lord Shiva with his consort Devi Parvathi depict the merging of 'Yin and Yang,' the male and female energy of the cosmos,'' he said.

Gossler, who is interested in music, dance and opera, said the Indian classical music and dance amazed him.KUWJ State President P P Sasidharan presented a sculpture to Gossler who is visiting the country as a guest of the Cultural Department.
