Progressive writers to protest All India Kannada meet
Udupi, Nov 23 (UNI) As the preparations are in full swing to hold a 74th All India Kannada Conference here from December 12, some progressive organisations have begun to oppose the 'Communalisation' of the conference by holding a parallel conference.
Kannada writer and Chief Editor of ' Hosathu', a Kannada digest had been selected to preside over the conference to be held on December 9, Mr G Rajashekar, one of the orginiser told reporters here today.
More than 1500 delegates including progressive writers and thinkers will take part in the conference, which will hold sessions on 'Communalism' and 'Globalisation and Inequality'.
Writers such as Shivasundar, Dr Rahmath Tarikere, K L Ashok, Prof Narendra Nayak and Pattabhirama Somayaji will present papers on communalisation, he said.
The valedictory address would be delivered by senior writer Ms Sara Aboobakkar, he added.
