Pondy to take steps for Minority reservation

Puducherry, Nov 23 (UNI) The Puducherry Administration will take steps to introduce a bill to provide reservation to minorities in the Union Territory, Welfare Minister M Kandasamy said here today.

Inaugurating the ''Minority Day'' celebrations here this evening, the Minister said at present only Dalits enjoyed reservation as per a legislation and all others were based on government orders.

The Administration would introduce a bill in the Legislative Assembly to make an Act and to get the President's assent, he added.
