Police arrest two Maoist activists
Sambalpur, Nov 23 (UNI) Police and Special Operation Group (SOG) have arrested two Maoists from Purunapani forest area under Dhama police station yesterday.
They were identified as Ramesh Dehury of Kayakud village under Jujomura police station and Jogendra Sabara of Brahmapura village under Charmal police station.
Police claimed that the two Maoists were involved in distributing leaflets in villages, instigating people to join Maoist cadre, organising meetings for the senior cadres of the Maoists.
They were also involved in the Sitlenpali farm house explosion, police said adding though cases were booked against them, they had managed to remain at large.
Police also seized leaflets, blackbelts and uniform from their possession.
The two youths were working under Ganesh Mirdha, arrested last week by Sambalpur police.
Police said four more persons, including a lady, had been detained and their antecedents were being investigated.
Eight people had so far been arrested for their involvement in Maoist activities, the SP said.
