Nickel, copper wire bars, lead, zinc

Mumbai, Nov 23 (UNI) Prices of key metals like nickel cathode, tin slab, lead ingots, copper wire bars, zinc slab and Brass cuttings in ferrous and non ferrous metals declined for the fourth consecutive day today on sustained heavy offers by stockists in view of bearish advice from London Metal Exchange (LME) along with Kolkata, Delhi and other centres, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.

In the ferrous category (per quintal), Copper heavy and Copper utensils remained unchanged while Brass utensils and Brass cuttings crashed again by Rs 500 each due to thin industrial users demand, induced by subdued advice from LME along with Kolkata, Delhi and other centres.

In Non-ferrous category, Copper wire bar, zinc slab and lead ingots prices came down again by Rs 100, Rs 300 and Rs 300 respectively on poor industrial users demand.

Similarly, tin slab and nickel cathode too declined steeply by Rs five and Rs 20 per kg respectively on renewed selling pressure by stockists in view of weaker advice from global markets.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals--Copper heavy: Rs 33,000, Copper utensils: Rs 30,700, Brass utensils: Rs 23,500, Brass cuttings: Rs 24,500 and Aluminium utensils: Rs 10,800.

Non-ferrous metals--Copper wire bars: Rs 36,300, Aluminium ingots: Rs 12,400, Zinc slab: Rs 12,900, Lead ingots: Rs 12,500, Tin slab: Rs 790 per kg and Nickel cathode: Rs 1,400 per kg.
