Irate mob locks policemen at Newasa

Ahmednagar, Nov 23: Irate mob of about 2,000 people today locked one DySP and two PIs attached to Newasa police station, near here, for not registering a Rs 70 lakh robbery complaint.

The robbery took place at one Dr Shinde's residence at around 1300 hrs. When the people went to the police station to lodge a complaint, the police allegedly refused to do so.

Angry over the police refusal, the mob locked the policemen from outside. The people also announced that they would boycott the programme of President of India at Shirdi on November 27, police sources said.
