Heroin worth Rs one cr seized, 5 smugglers held

Farrukhabad, Nov 23 (UNI) The Special Operation Group (SOG) of police here today busted a smuggling syndicate and arrested five persons with heroin worth Rs one crore in the international market.

Acting on a tip-off, the police cordoned off the Kayanganj area and swooped upon five smugglers identified as Sanjeev Kumar, Akhilesh Tiwari, Rampal, Natthu Singh and Shabhu.

On being frisked, one kg heroin was recovered from their possession.

They were being interrogated, police said.
