Fisherman drowns off Cuddalore coast
Chennai, Nov 23 (UNI) A fisherman drowned and five others were rescued after their boat capsized in high seas following high tidal waves off Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu today.
Reports received here said six fishermen, hailing from Sonangkuppam fishing hamlet in Cuddalore, ventured into the sea for fishing in a glass boat.
The boat was hit by high tides and in the impact it capsized.
All the six fishermen fell into the sea and one drowned. However, five others were rescued by the fishermen, who were fishing nearby.
The body was taken to the government hospital for post mortem.
