Patna, Nov 23 (UNI) The Bihar Government today sounded a red alert across the state following serial blasts in Uttar Pradesh and recovery of a huge cache of explosives from a Maoist hideout here.

ADG (Law and Order) Anil Sinha told UNI here that all the Police Superintendents had been directed to keep a close watch because of the state's close proximity to UP on one side and Nepal on the other.

He said all police stations of the state had been directed to remain extra alert and asked to keep a close vigil on the movement of suspected persons round the clock under their jurisdiction.

Mr Sinha further said special attention had been accorded in the Maoist-dominated areas following last night's recovery of explosives from the state capital and arrest of two hardcore extremists.

He, however, refused to divulge the details of the action plan, prepared by police to counter the Maoist activities, saying it would be improper to reveal the strategies in view of the sensitivity of the matter.

Mr Sinha said the SSB entrusted with the responsibility of the security along Indo-Nepal international border had been tipped off and special attention was being given in the border areas suspecting infilteraton of Maoists through the porous borders.
