152 accidents in industries in three years

Bhubaneswar, Nov 23 (UNI) As many as 152 fatal accidents were reported in both private sector and government undertaking industries during the last three years in Orissa, Labour and Employment Minister Jayanarayan Mishra told the Assembly today.

Replying to a question of Mr Baidhar Mallick (BJP), the Minister said prosecution reports under the F&B Act had been filed in 78 cases out of which five cases ended in conviction.

However, on appeal five cases were withdrawn after verifying the compliance made by the management for accident prevention in their factory, Mr Mishra said.
