Six people, including three of a family, drown

Bangalore, Nov 22 (UNI) Six people, including three from a family, drowned in two different incidents in Devanahalli and Mysore in the last 24 hours.

Police said today that a nine-year old Sunni fell into the pond at Kogile near Devanahalli on the outskirts of the city and mother Munni (33) went for her rescue and got drowned.

The child fell into the pond when the mother was busy washing clothes.

Her husband Rafiq (40) who went to save them was also struck in the silt and died.

Hearing the commotion, Sharada (23), who was nearby, tried to rescue them but she too met the watery grave.

Three bodies had been recovered so for.

A report from Mysore said that two persons drowned when their car fell into a tank on the outskirts of the city today.

Police said that the mishap occurred on their way back from business trip from Kerala to Davanagere.

They said that the driver of the car swam to safety while the other two drowned.
