Mangalore, Nov 22 (UNI) BusVoice, a unique Vehicle Monitoring System, will be introduced in Daxina Kannada and Udupi districts tomorrow in private buses, as an information and entertainment media, using Satellite Navigation System to benefit over 40,000 passengers daily.

Speaking to reporters here today Mr Rajesh Kunder, CEO of i-Factor Technologies Pvt Limited, said the BusVoice would be fitted in over 100 buses and it would be scaled up to 500 within one year.

He said the Satellite receivers in the BusVoice detects the location, speed, direction and altitude on the earth surface using the Satellite data and transmit it to the servers through the GPRS network.

The data so received would be used to provide many location-based services. Besides, the BusVoice would provide audio visual entertainment and information to passengers and facilitate automatic announcement of the required stops and tea breaks and significant tourist places, as and when required, in any desired languages.

Mr Kunder said the system provides vehicle tracking data including its speed, arrival and departure times at scheduled and unscheduled stops while alerting about traffic jams, accident spots and rates the driver's performances. This would be available without the support of any operators.

Canara Bus Operators Association President Rajavarma Ballal said the system entailed over Rs 40 lakhs. The project was planned to be self-sustainable by generating income for its operation and maintenance. The system would provide tracking links to both RTO offices and traffic police.
