Rupee opens low at 39.43/45 against USD, down by four paise

Mumbai, Nov 22: The Indian Rupee today opened low by four paise at 39.43/45 against US Dollar compared to 39.39/40 on the previous day's close on some good dollar demand from local dealers.

Traders said,'' Rupee eased further away from a recent near-decade high today, taking cues from weak Asian equity markets and on fears of capital outflows from local stocks triggered by heightened global risk aversion.

Later, rupee was fluctuated between 39.40 and 39.45 per dollar in intra day trade, weaker than the previous finish of 39.39/40. It hit 39.16 earlier this month -- its highest since March 1998.

Asian stocks extended their decline today amid worries about the health of the U.S. economy, the region's top export destination, dealers added.
