Police arrest former MLA in vehicle theft case

Sasaram, Nov 22 (UNI) Police today arrested four persons including a former Congress MLA for alleged theft of a vehicle theft in Sasaram.

Acting on a tip off the local police raided a hideout and arrested the driver of the vehicle. Later the vehicle was recovered from Gola road area under Town police station in the district.

Acting on the informations of the arrested driver, the former Congress MLA Perwaiz was also arrested from his Patna residence and two others.

The police disclosed that a gang was being run under the patronage of the ex-MLA which was involved in sale and purchase of stolen vehicles.
