Patel inaugurates Confluence

Ahmedabad, Nov 22 (UNI) The ninth edition of IIM-A's annual international B-school meet, 'Confluence 2007', was today inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel.

'Confluence' is the biggest Business School Summit in Asia and IIM-A's flagship event. It offers participants a unique opportunity to develop and discuss ideas, to catch up with the latest trends and to finetune their business acumen by learning from industry experts.

Among others present at the inaugural session were Bihar Planning Commission's deputy chairman N K Singh, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) managing director and CEO S Ramadorai, MphasiS chairman Jerry Rao, IIM-A Dean Prof J R Varma and Confluence faculty advisor Prof Ravichandran.

The inaugural session was addressed by Mr Singh and Mr Ramadorai.

This year's speakers include BCG chairman Arun Maira, HCL Technologies CEO Vineet Nayar, HDFC-Standard Life CEO Deepak Satwalkar and Greater Pacific Capital's Founder Partner Ketan Patel.

With its growing stature as a B-School event of eminence, the four-day event has seen an astounding increase in participation over the years. In this year's edition, more than 75 business schools are participating, with number of students exceeding 1,200. The international universities participating in the event include Manchester Business School, Lahore University of Management Sciences, Australian Graduate School of Management, Columbia Business School and University of Michigan.
