Kotak opens branch in Kurukshetra, sets Rs 1100 cr business target

New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) Kotak Mahindra Old Mutual Life Insurance Limited (Kotak Life Insurance) today said it has opened its new branch office at Kurukshetra and has set a target of around Rs 1,100 crore of new business premium for FY 2007-08.

The new branch will cater to markets like Sahbad, Ladwa, Pehowa, Kaul, Dhand and Ismailabad apart from Faridabad, said a statement.

The company currently has a base of about 26,000 active life advisors and expects the count to reach around 40,000 in the current financial year.

''With this new branch at Kurukshetra, we are confident of accomplishing our vision to emerge as a dominant player in the life insurance market in the state,'' said company Senior Vice-President (Sales - Northern Region) Yog Raj Sharma.

We are ramping up our distribution significantly and will expand to 160 offices by year end - mainly in smaller towns, he added.

With this new addition, Kotak Life Insurance now has 102 branches in the country.
