Kazakhstan official carrier to launch 3rd flight from Delhi
New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) Air Astana, the official carrier of Kazakhstan, plans to operate its third flight from Delhi starting this winter, it was announced today.
The airline plans to operate on the Almaty-Delhi-Almaty sector with a B757 type of aircraft with a capacity of 50 seats in business class and 150 in economy class, Mr Virendra Teotia, general representative in India for Air Astana, said.
''Though the airline is still awaiting the approval of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, yet we are sure of filing the increased capacity,'' he added.
He said the additional frequency was expected to give a boost to travel trade, open more business opportunities and benefit a large number of Indian students present in Almaty.
''Indian cuisine will also be made available on board,' he said.
On increasing route connectivity to other cities, Mr Teotia said the airline did not have plans to operate from any other city in India, but with growing synergies between the two countries, the option could not be ruled out.
