Intellectuals take out peace processions for unity and amity

Kolkata, Nov 22 (UNI) A day after violence shattered the city, artistes, academics and intellecutals took out a peace processions here today, calling for maintaining peace and amity.

Academic Pabitra Sarkar, singer Ajit Pande and poet Subodh Sarkar were among those who participated in the procession that started from Park Circus area, with posters and festoons urging the people not to fall to any provocation.

A separate peace procession, led by social activist Medha Patkar, also traversed roads after starting from the College square in Central Kolkata.

Besides, noted personalities, a large number of students joined the procession.
