Four kg charas recovered, smuggler arrested in Kashmir

Baramulla, Nov 22 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police today arrested a smuggler and recovered four kg of charas in north Kashmir, official sources said.

They said acting on a tip-off, the police at Syed Karim mohalla near here arrested Abdul Karim Ganaie when he was handing over charas to another person.

Later, the police recovered four kg charas from his possession.

The smuggler confessed that he had brought the charas from Litter in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.

The police has destroyed charas and other banned crops over thousands of kanals of land in south Kashmir this summer. About a dozen smugglers were also arrested.
