Crafts exhibition by women students draws crowds

Chandigarh, Nov 22 (UNI) A three-day colourful Crafts exhibition-cum-Sale of creations by the students of Government Central Crafts Institute for Women here was inaugurated today.

Adviser to the UT Administrator, Pradip Mehra lighted the traditional lamp and took a round of the Exhibition.

He appreciated the efforts put in by the students in making such quality products and also congratulated the staff for their hard work in making experts out of students, who have barely had school education and mostly belonged to lower strata of the society.

The Exhibition is offering fascinating collection of stitched garments for men, women and kids and fridge covers with handles, the embroidered house-hold linen like bedsheets, pillow covers, aprons, cushions, napkins, etc.

In the leather goods section, beautiful bags of various shapes, wall hangings, school bags and many other fancy items.

A stall is also giving details of the courses of Computer Operator and Programming Assistant and Stenography, English, Hindi and Punjabi trades, which are of one-year each and could open up numerous job opportunities in Government as well as Private Sector.
